OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - An Idaho prison inmate faces murder and rape charges in the killing of an 11-year-old Ogden girl in 1983.

Weber County Attorney Dee Smith told ABC4 Monday he filed the charges against Gregory Seamons on Friday.  Smith says DNA evidence taken from the 1983 murder investigation was a perfect match to Seamons' DNA.

Lemberger disappeared after walking to school on March 2, 1983 and a group of young boys found her body the next day hidden in a field.

Seamons continues to say he never knew Lemberger and has nothing to do with the crime, but investigators believe that as a 15-year-old he raped and beat the 11-year-old.

The Idaho Department of Correction website says Seamons is an inmate whose sentence for a 2nd degree kidnapping conviction is set to expire in 2017.
