SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in the stabbing of another man at a Salt Lake City fast-food restaurant.

The Deseret News reports Joel Estrada of Salt Lake City was charged with the first-degree felony count Friday in 3rd District Court.

He's accused of stabbing a man about 10 times while he was waiting for his breakfast order Wednesday at a downtown Burger King.

The 25-year-old victim was critically injured and underwent surgery after being rushed to a hospital.

According to police, the victim was stabbed in the neck while Estrada stood behind him in a booth. The victim tried to take cover under the booth, but the suspect continued to stab him until fleeing the scene.
