SALT LAKE (ABC 4 News) – Families across Utah are celebrating Father’s Day in their own unique way, but many took advantage of the great outdoors to spend quality time together.

Whether your father is like Al Bundy or Clark Griswald, we are celebrating all fathers this holiday.

Utah’s unpredictable weather played in many fathers’ favor. The sun and heat made for a great round of golf. Other families tested out motor boats on local lakes.

“We are running our boats,” Clifton Nicholson said. “We’re testing them for race day and having fun with our kids.’

Despite the dry, hot, and windy conditions fueling wildfires across the state, families said the weather couldn’t be better.

Still, one man from Salt Lake wished winter was still here.

“I would like to go snowmobiling, but there’s no snow left,” Robert Gillespie said.
