SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - It's finally here!
The Salt Lake Weekly's annual “Best of Utah” issue hit the stands (and the web) Wednesday.
It is the Weekly's 23rd annual "Best of" issue.
In it, you will find glowing praise for a former governor, knitted facial hair and ABC 4’s own Kylie Conway.
Now, the City Weekly's “Best of” issue is a beast.
Thousands of ballots were cast, hundreds of winners picked and it weighs in at 184 pages long.
Bill Frost, the City Weekly’s Editor-At Large, told ABC 4 that this issue is,
"…where we tell everybody what the best stuff is in Utah."
For example, Jon Huntsman was voted the best Utahn.
Roller derby won and so did something called Beard Beanie.
But, the category getting the most votes is food and drink.
There, one of the big winners was an adult beverage called Five Wives Vodka.
We tried to ask Frost about this but he was too busy sampling.
ABC 4's Kylie Conway also won best new TV anchor honors.
And speaking of new, there was a new "Best of" development this year.
Because of social media, more people voted than ever before.
Frost told us,
"Last year we had about 3,000 people vote. This year over 4,000 and the majority of that is due to Facebook and Twitter."
Now, as for that hack who won Best TV Reporter (me), I am personally calling for a recount!
