MIDVALE (ABC 4 News) - Authorities on Tuesday identified a second man wanted in connection with the shootings deaths of three people at a Midvale "drug house" last week.
On Feb. 12, three people were shot to death inside the home, located near 8200 South and 400 West in Midvale. A fourth victim, a woman, was critically injured and hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Two days later, police arrested David Fresques as the primary suspect in the case.
Officials had previously stated they were also searching for a second person of interest, identified on Tuesday as 33-year-old Davis Romney Fotu. Authorities stopped short of calling Fotu a suspect in the case, and are not yet certain of his role in the shootings.
"This person is a person of interest in this case," says Lt. Justin Hoyal. "Detectives are still trying to determine what his role was."
Police won't say how Fotu's name was linked to the triple murder last week in MIdvale. Jail records obtained by ABC 4 NEWS show that David Fresques was the alleged trigger man in the crime that left two women and a man dead inside the home.
Fresques has a history of gang times and Fotu may also be a gangster.
"I don't know about gang ties," says Lt. Hoyal.
Last week Fotu was charged with aggravated assault and retaliating against a witness. The court documents list a gang prosecutor screening the case.
Meanwhile Fotu was booked into jail February 9th on the charge and was released February 11th when he made bail. The next day, three people were shot to death in the Midvale home.
"Obviously he had just gotten out of jail the day before and the next day he's involved in a very serious case and a tragedy in Midvale," says Lt. Hoyal.
Fotu has a Riverton address but police checked that address but could not find him. If anyone has any information on his whereabouts contact Unified Police Department at (801) 743-5851.
The three deceased victims were identified last week as Omar
Jarman, Shontay Young and Danielle Lucero. The fourth victim has since been upgraded from critical to serious condition, officials said. Jarman was buried Monday. Young's funeral is scheduled Wednesday and Lucero will be buried Thursday.
