SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A woman who fell 30 to 40 feet in Provo Canyon last week while ice climbing died from her injuries, medical officials said Monday.

Meghan Arnold, 30, was climbing above Bridal Veil Falls with a partner when they both fell. Authorities said the pair were approximately 30 feet up the ice -- which is a frozen waterfall -- when they fell.

Arnold, from Park City, was flown by a medical helicopter to the University of Utah Hospital. The man, John Lavalla, 34, was taken by ambulance to a Provo hospital. Officials said his injuries are not life-threatening.

A spokesman for the University of Utah Hospital said Arnold died from her injuries on Saturday night. The exact details of her injuries were not revealed.
