LOGAN (ABC 4 News) - The Logan Police Department's 911 telephone center has upgraded its communications equipment to utilize the high-speed CodeRED emergency information delivery system.
CodeRED allows Logan authorities the ability to quickly deliver voice, text and email messages to citizens in the event of an emergency or high priority event. Residents whose telephone numbers are listed in the database will automatically receive the notifications, officials said. However, those whose number is not listed in the database will not receive the alerts.
"No one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included," said Logan 911 center director Randy Auman. "If your number is not in the database, you will not be called."
Residents who wish to receive the CodeRED alerts should register online, Auman said. (Click here to register online
Residents without Internet access may register their phone number with the system by calling the Logan 911 dispatch center at (435) 716-9424.
In addition to receiving emergency alerts, residents can opt-in during the registration process to receive other general notifications from Logan city departments.MORE:
