PROVO (ABC 4 News) - A dump truck ended up on its roof and its driver was sent to the hospital after it swerved into oncoming traffic and drove straight off an overpass, police said.

According to authorities, the truck was driving northbound near 500 South and University Avenue in Provo when it turned into the oncoming lane, drove onto the bridge's edge, and went straight over. Police said that the dump truck slid along the bridge's edge for approximately 25 feet before falling over and landing on its roof at the street below.

It was not immediately clear what caused the truck driver to lose control.
