To think that people do this for their own recreation or entertainment is just... *shiver* It's bad enough that the state is up in flames, but to throw a animal or even a person into a fire or w/e happened here...What is the world coming to?

This story breaks my heart. Why people would do this to a helpless animal is beyond me. Animals depend on us for their care and safety and give us unconditional love in return. If you get a pet and realize it is more then you can handle or not what you wanted do the right thing and let someone that will love and care for it adopt it. It is never the right thing to treat a living, breathing creature with brutality. I can only hope that the thought of looking into that sweet dogs eyes and hearing her screams for help will stay with the quilty persons forever, much like the physical and psychological scars will stay with her.

Really, aside from the value of this story, is the value of proofreading a piece that's going out of your office to hundreds of people. You don't need to be embarrassed by simple typos or malapropisms. Chihuahua doesn't need to be capitalized any more than beagle or poodle would be. "riving" is "writhing" - "graphs" should have been "grafts" - and "lease" would be "leash" instead. There are three or four more spots in this article to fix up, but I won't point them out. Sorry to look like a Grammar Nazi, but the rough-draft quality of this article made it distracting to read and accidentally humorous in a way that I'm certain you didn't intend.

Very sad story of what seems to be animal cruelty, horrid for the animal but an outward indication of a worse horror within the perpetrator. The Bible says that God gives the lions their food, that He's aware of mere sparrows, that He considered a pet lamb story significant enough to confront a king about treachery. May that same God be closely involved in this little creature's recovery or its passing.
