SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Early next week, the Book of Mormon Musical begins its national tour in Denver.
The hugely popular Broadway show is already sold out there and is now scheduled to play in nearly 20 cities around the country.
But, so far, Salt Lake is not on the list.
Downtown, outside the Capitol Theatre, we found that a lot of people want the musical to come here.
But it's yet not clear when (if?) that will happen.
With an average ticket price near 200 dollars, the Broadway smash is still running strong in the Big Apple.
So, it’s launching one national tour next week with another at the end of the year.
The show is even scheduled for London in 2013.
Many we talked to in Utah think it will come and should come.
Some even wondered how it couldn't come here.
Although, one woman noted it might be controversial.
However, for those wanting to see the show sooner rather then later, the next closest (not sold-out) options may be Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Now, we were unable to connect with the Utah theater group which would likely bring the musical to Salt Lake.
Although, from indications, it's still believed to be a distinct possibility.
