WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Police in West Valley are trying to solve what could be an attempted murder.
“A female called in and indicated her husband had been shot,” said Sgt. Mike Powell, West Valley Police Dept.
Police said Thursday night around midnight a 52-year-old man was shot several times. He lives at 6800 W. 3700 S. in West Valley City.
Neighbors told ABC 4, they’re shocked.
“It seems pretty crazy to me, it happened so close to the house,” said Eloy Duran, neighbor.
“I think it sucks, to be honest with you,” said Joe Flores, neighbor.
“It’s a big concern to us because it’s a pretty quiet neighborhood,” said Andrea Muniz, neighbor.
Aside from mentioning the man is still alive, and was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, police aren’t saying much about the crime.
“It’s an active investigation. We’re still trying to work through all the fine details and figure out exactly what occurred,” said Powell.
So far it’s unclear who shot the man or why. As of 5:00 p.m. Friday afternoon police were still on scene gathering evidence.
