SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A group called the Campaign for Adult Immunization claims Utah is seeing an outbreak of Pertussis or whooping cough. The campaign claims Utah is currently experiencing illnesses three times higher than the national average. It's the worst outbreak in Utah in over 60 years. 

Infants are among the groups most vulnerable. The campaign claims 55% of infants become infected by adults.

Alternatively, it could be all of the parents that think a Pertussis vaccination has become outdated and their kids are protected via herd immunity. After all, from the 10k-25k cases reported each year to the CDC, only 10-15 result in deaths. To those parents I would say, "You shouldn't have trusted the herd." Let's not group all the dumb/irresponsible parents together. We need to be able to independently identify which ones are naiive and which ones are gullible.

Probably from all of the parent's that think vaccinations are bad for thier kids now. That whole thing was based off a lie but gullible people believe it.
