SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – Some people might say a West Jordan dog has a face only a mother could love, but this weekend that’s a good thing. “Creature” is competing in the Ugliest Dog in the World Contest.
She may not be a beautiful creature, but that is her name.
"It fits her personality to a tee," said Taylor Stokes, Creature’s Owner.
With her scraggly hair, and unmistakable under bite, her owner Taylor Stokes thinks his Mexican hairless has what it takes to be the worst looking dog alive.
"So you think she's pretty ugly?” Reporter Brian Carlson asked.
”She's so ugly she's cute," said Stokes.
"We in the biz would say she has a face for radio," said Carlson.
This weekend “Creature” will join handful of other mutts all competing in the World's Ugliest Dog Contest in California. Stokes said he likes “Creature’s” chances.
"She just kind of has the whole package. She's got her little tusks that give her that edge," said Stokes.
If “Creature” doesn't win, she at least has her beautiful face out there.
“Creature” and Stokes leave for the competition Thursday. The contest will be held Friday.
