Weber inmate found dead in apparent jail suicide

OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Deputies say a 22-year-old Weber County inmate was found dead over the weekend in what appears to be the second suicide at the jail in a month.

Chief Deputy Klint Anderson says the death of Ieve Dominguez took authorities by surprise. Anderson says Dominguez was behind bars on misdemeanors and hadn't shown signs of depression as late as last week.

Officials say Dominguez appeared fine when an officer checked on him about 11:30 p.m. Saturday. They say he was found hanging from a bed sheet in his single-person cell about an hour later.

The apparent suicide comes less than a month after 43-year-old Jeffery Dean White was found dead in his cell Nov. 14. He'd been charged with murder in the death of his girlfriend, Marnie Stark.
