SANTA CLARA, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Volunteers have been the silver lining for people with damaged homes in Santa Clara.

Janelle Kenworthy and her family traveled from St. George to help a families in need.

"It's just so sad," said Kenworthy. "It's nice to help people out."

The Hafen household was one of the worst homes hit. The entire first floor had to be gutted.

The owners daughter told ABC 4 many of her childhood memories have been ruined.

"It's a lot of memories," said Jennifer Redfearn "It's devastating to watch my family suffering like this."

Over one thousand volunteers from all over the state are assisting in cleanup efforts.

Helpers are meeting at Santa Clara City Hall.

John Graff owns a restoration company in the area. He is offering cleanup services to his friends without flood insurance.

People have come from all ages. Ellie Kenworthy, 9-years-old, sums up the community's feelings.

"It was hard, but it was worth it to help somebody that needs help," said Ellie Kenworthy.
