WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A victim involved in a shooting Thursday night succumbed to his injuries and passed away Saturday morning.

Police responded to a call Thursday night of shots being fired in the area of 3700 South 6800 West.

James Michael George, 52, was found inside his residence with multiple gunshot wounds. His wife and stepson were also at the residence, but initially there was no suspect information or details about what had occurred.

The victim was flown to a local area hospital in critical condition just before midnight on Thursday, but died earlier this morning due to his injuries.

An investigation has been underway, with detectives gaining information through interviews and search warrants.

The 16-year-old stepson has been arrested in conjunction with the investigation and has been booked into Juvenile Detention. Charges will be determined by the District Attorney's Office sometime next week.

The investigation remains active at this time.
