Vernal teen hit by suspected texting and driving driver

Vernal, Utah (ABC 4 News)- A Venal teenager was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center after being hit by a car. 

The teenager was walking along 500 west in Vernal sunday evening, when a man driving a silver dodge pick up truck drifted off and struck the teen.  

The teen was taken to Ashley Regional Medical Center and then flown to primary Children's in critical conditiion.   

While the cause of the crash is still under investigation the cause is suspected as being texting while driving. 

Police have not released the name of the teenager or the driver involved in the incident.
