MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Utah’s first New Year’s baby entered the world at 12:01 a.m. Baby Anna-Sofia Rossano weights 6 pounds 11 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.

“She came two weeks early. So she chose this date all on her own. I was hoping for one more week. Wasn’t quite ready,” said mother Monica Rossano.

Her contractions began New Year’s Eve inside a nearby CostCo. Father Sal and mother Monica Rossano are very proud of their daughter. Anna-Sofia is going home to a family of three older brothers.

We also caught up with two other New Year’s babies in Utah. The next was born 22 minutes later to Jeremiah and Alexis Brennan in Ogden at McKay-Dee Hospital. Mom says her baby arrived two weeks early and admits she second guessed the first contractions.

“I was like I don’t think I’m going into labor,” Alexis.

Baby Evelyn Brennan weighs 6 pounds 8 ounces and is 19.5 inches long.

The third New Year’s baby in Utah entered the world at 12:30 a.m. Baby Genesis Alvarez was delivered in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah Hospital. She weights more than seven pounds.
