UINTAH, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Two inmates who escaped from the Uintah County Jail were taken into custody in Nebraska Sunday morning.

Dallas Ephraim Derrick, 31, and Jason Max Braham, 21, were booked into Lancaster County Jail after being spotted by a deputy, said John Laursen of the Uintah County Sheriff's Department.

Uintah County Officials were notified Sunday morning that the escaped convicts were found walking away from a stalled vehicle in Lincoln, Neb.

A Lancaster County Sheriff became wary of Derrick and Braham when he approached them to ask if they needed assistance, said Laursen.

According to the deputy, the convicts' actions and answers to his questions made him suspicious, which led to the arrest.

The men fled the Vernal Jail on Wednesday night, after stealing an SUV. The two were working in the laundry room at the time of their escape.

Both are being held in the Lancaster County Jail in Lincoln, Neb. pending charges before being extradited to Utah.
