SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah State University officials say they've raised $400 million as part of the fundraising campaign they announced in 2003.
The university is hosting a celebration of the efforts on Friday evening.
The initial fundraising goal that was set was $200 million but Utah State President Stan Albrecht upped the figure to $400 million because better-than-expected donation amounts.
More than 50,000 people donated money. The funds are being used for scholarships, new buildings, and endowments.
Albrecht and other university officials are expected at the celebratory event.
