BLANDING, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The town of Blanding, Utah is mourning the loss of Jason Workman, a Navy Seal who died in one of the deadliest attacks on American forces in Afghanistan.
32-year old Workman died with 29 other American Service members when their helicopter crashed during an operation against Taliban insurgents on Saturday.
Workman grew up in Blanding and was known by many as a hard-working, compassionate guy who loved to play sports. Blanding's mayor Toni Turk knows the Workman family. He says Workaman died doing what he loved. "His family is extremely heartbroken right now. I could feel their pain," says Mayor Turk.
Workman is one of four boys. His older brother graduated from West Point. His parents and a younger brother are on their way to Virginia to meet up with Workman's wife and 21-month old son. His body is en route to the United States. Workman will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
