SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - At first glance he looks like a normal, healthy baby boy but at closer look you can see the tubes attached to his little legs and the scars from the surgeries on his scalp. This little guy is in the fight for his life.
Noah’s father Mike Masse said, "He's been so strong such a little trooper we're so proud of him."
The one-year-old has been in the hospital now for a little longer than a month after doctors found a cancerous tumor in his brain. Surgery could only remove half the tumor, chemotherapy is hopefully going to take care of the rest.
Masse said, "He's done the first round of chemo and he's smiling and laughing and babbling and playing peek-a-boo all the things you want a one-year-old to do."
While Noah has been in the hospital his father has been to work trying to raise money to pay for his care. A musician for most of his life Mike Masse is using his talent to spread the word about Noah’s fight.
“Let it Be,” is up on iTunes and has seen over 180,000 hits. It actually hit the number one iTunes song in Holland last week. So far more than 4,000 people have bought the song helping take some burden of fighting cancer off the Masse’s shoulders.
"We're just trying to prepare for the long road because hopefully we'll have a long road with Noah and we want to be ready for that,” said Masse.
Noah is headed home tomorrow and next week he'll have an MRI to see what's going on with the tumor. That's when doctors will decide if another round of chemo is needed or another surgery.
Masse said, "We've had so many people reach out to us, friends and strangers…we'll be eternally grateful to them."
