I know only one couple who did this, naming their kids Gwyn and Jarryl, but the mother's name is Chana (silent C and pronounced Hawna). My sister and I are also mildly unique for this area with the names Lorna and Faith, and my sister-in-law has the Swedish name of Kersti (pronounced Sure-stee). Frankly, I've never understood why most people insist on naming people the same thing as everyone else; isn't the point of a name to be unique and individualized? I know seven Matts, five Justins, ten Roberts, fifteen Mikes, etc., so I've noticed the creativity with names is more inclined to be used on the girls. It may make for a harder time buying personalized key chains, but hearing your name and knowing it's you they mean is priceless. The creative spellings, however, just seem to make things complicated.
