MURRAY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - A TRAX train collided with a vehicle in Murray on Wednesday, shutting down the tracks in both directions.
According to the Utah Transit Authority, the crash involved the driver of a Honda CRV.
UTA Spokesman Gerry Carpenter said the female driver was killed, while a male passenger was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Carpenter said the crash happened at 5900 South and 300 West as the Honda was traveling south on 300 West.
Carpenter said the driver passed through the tracks as the gates were down and lights were flashing.
Emergency crews worked to extract the victims from the wreckage, that was dragged more than 100 feet down the tracks after impact.
The names of the victims were not released.
