SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – Speeding can get you a ticket, but in a strange twist so can going the speed limit.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers are ticketing left land drivers who don’t pull out of the way of faster moving cars-- even if they’re speeding.

The law was passed about five years ago, but UHP is renewing a push to enforce this law.

The Utah Department of Transportation is putting up about 30 signs to warn drivers to obey this law.

Troopers can ticket drivers between $50 and $90 for breaking this law.

The law applies the the left "general purpose" lane. It does not apply to the HOV lane. Google "Utah left lane" and the statute will pop up.

Is this for the HOV/Express lane or for the main flow of traffic? A little more detail would be nice.
