"Yes. It's warm, but it's not really hot. We experienced 136 degrees down in Kuwait when we were waiting to cross into Iraq," Bruce Summers
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Temperatures along the Wasatch Front are forecast to hit the triple digits through Thursday.

ABC 4 send ABC 4's Noah Bond to tour Salt Lake County to search for ways to stay cool.

He talked with experts of sorts; children and a member of the Army National Guard who braved temperatures hotter than 130 in the Middle East.

Bond started his tour at Cowabunga Bay Water Park in Draper where kids know a thing or two about the heat as they were enjoying water slides and pools.

Even though the kids say it's hot, State Command Major for Utah's National Guard Bruce Summers has a different opinion.

Bond asked him, "Is this hot?" He replied, "Yes. It's warm, but it's not really hot. We experienced 136 degrees down in Kuwait when we were waiting to cross into Iraq," Summers said.

He served in Iraq from 2005 to 2006. His advice is to drink plenty of cold water and to stay in the shade as much as possible.

"You need to eat because even though you drink a lot of water you need to have food in that stomach to keep the water there," he said.

Of course a treat can also help you stay cool as Bond found at the Gateway Mall near an outdoor water fountain. "Any tips to help people stay cool in this hot weather?" Bond asked. "Snow cones," said Apryl Layton. "What flavor did you get?" Bond. "Bubble gum," said Layton.

She was watching her children play in the water so Bond joined them running through the fountain and getting a little wet in the process.

"Well looks like I got a little wet there, but that's part of the fun," Bond said.

Doctors say anyone who stops sweating in the heat should drink plenty of fluids and seek medical attention. This is a sign of heat exhaustion.
