Sickle Hemoglobin D disease is an inherited disease of the red blood cell that results in painful episodes, damage to vital organs, risk of serious infection and early death.
Jonah couldn't appear on GTU as scheduled because he was in the hospital at the time of this segment after being rushed to the emergency room the night before.
Be a part of the 1st Annual Taylorsville’s BIG GIVE for Jonah Gomez on Saturday, May 31st at the Taylorsville High School Gymnasium from 4:00pm until 9:00pm!

Jonah has two rare blood disorders and a heart condition, and is the only known person to have both disorders. He has received over 39 blood transfusions in his short life. He needs a transfusion almost every 6 weeks, and may need a stem cell transplant. Together with friends, family and local businesses, we plan to raise money to offset medical expenses. His mother, Jessica Kasparian Gomez was the Student Body President at Taylorsville High School in 1990. If you would like to volunteer to help with the fundraiser, or donate items for the silent auction please contact us at www.taylorsvillebiggive.blogspot.com.
