Sheep killed by dogs in West Mountain area

UTAH COUNTY (ABC 4 News) - 18 sheep were killed in Utah County Saturday after being attacked by 4 dogs.

On Saturday, November 10, Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of dogs attacking sheep in the West Mountain area. When Deputies they found 7 dead sheep and at lease 6 others with varying degrees of injuries in the area.

With help from local citizens, Deputies located two residents who owned 3 of the dogs. Witnesses saw one of the dogs with the sheep that had been attacked but other 2 dogs were not witnessed in the act of attacking the sheep. Deputies were not able to prove that the dogs were the ones who attacked the sheep.

The owner of the sheep have said the value of the dead and injured sheep at $11,500.00.

The dog owners will be charged with allowing dogs to run at large, allowing attacks by dogs, and maintaining a public nuisance.
