Severe thunderstorms race across Wasatch Front

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - The National Weather Service says a severe storm front was expected to cross the Wasatch Front area on Monday.

A severe thunderstorm warning remained in effect until 600 p.m. for Davis, northern Salt Lake and northeastern Tooele counties, as the storm was expected to hit Davis County a little later.

NWS Doppler radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

The NWS said the storm was moving northeast at 35 mph.

Locations in the warning included Salt Lake City, the University of Utah, North Salt Lake, Woods Cross, Bountiful and Centerville.
