MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC 4 News) Three men are in police custody after chasing leads left by two robberies. The robberies occurred in South Salt Lake and Millcreek.

Just after midnight on Sunday morning, a woman was getting out of her car at an apartment complex near 210 West and 4000 South. An African-American man approached her, pointing a handgun. He took her purse and left with another individual in a maroon Lincoln Continental.

The description matched that of an earlier robbery in South Salt Lake being investigated.

Around 2 a.m., police spotted a vehicle matching the description with four African-American males at a Millcreek 7-Eleven on State Street.

One of the men went into the store, while the others spotted the police car and fled. Police chased them about one block before they surrendered and pulled over.

Police found two handguns and narcotics in the car. The men were arrested on those charges, however no charges have been filed for the robberies as the men are only suspects in the case.
