Senator Harry Reid injured in Nevada crash

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (ABC 4 News) - Senate majority leader Harry Reid has been injured and hospitalized after a crash on Interstate 15 on Friday.

KTNV reported that the crash happened just after 1 p.m. on I-15 northbound in Las Vegas, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

KTNV also reported that multiple cars were involved in the crash, including four cars in Senator Reid's caravan.

The extent of Reid's injuries were not immediately clear, but staff members reported that the senator was able to walk under his own power into the hospital.

Reid attended Utah State University and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

So sorry to hear about this. Must have been bad... especially if it was a high-speed pileup that included 4 vehicles in his caravan. Q: Is he up for re-election this year? (I don't even know!) Politics aside.... Our thoughts and sincere prayers go out to "Brother" Reid, his family and to his staff who may have been involved as well.
