PARK CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Park City turned into a winter wonderland Friday. That happening as early as Nov. 9 has just about everyone doing a happy dance.

“It's beautiful we're glad it's finally here,” said Delaina Bode, a tourist from Wyoming.

Skier Sue Gleason is also glad to see the white stuff. “We need the snow we need it to stick,” she said.

Resorts also hoping this snow sticks. The Utah ski and snowboard industry saw a 10 percent drop in visitors to the slopes last year-- a number resorts want turned around. “The fact that this is our second big snow already, two weeks before opening day, the signs are promising for a big year,” said Steve Pastorino, director of PR for Canyons.

Even the pros have fingers crossed for more powder. ABC4 caught up with Olympian snowboarder Faye Gulini during a photo shoot at Canyons modeling the latest snow fashion.

“Last year we had a rough season it wasn't very much snow,” said Gulini. “I mean I still had fun but it would have been nice to get some powder days, maybe this season, it looks like it,” she said.

Away from the slopes, businesses on snowy Main Street are also pumped for the upcoming season-- after all their bottom line depends so much on ski tourism.

“I don't think you can have two years in a row and not have good snow,” said Kelley Coates, owner of Pine. “Always every year we hope for a lot of snow, early snow, long snow, lots of snow.”
