SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - They have spent weeks working on Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker’s proposed $204.3 million budget, now the City Council will finalize their own version.

Perhaps the biggest issue debated, the new price of parking downtown. While they haven't officially passed the budget, it looks like parking downtown will cost two quarters more and free parking on Sundays will be gone.

Parking will now cost $2 an hour and you will have to pay until 8 p.m. The council will meet at 7 on Tuesday night to finalize the budget.

One great reason not to shop in downtown Salt Lake City. I shop in towns and at businesses where they actually want you to come and park and enjoy your shopping experience, not places where they want to gouge your last two cents out of you for shopping with them. I think a boycott of Salt Lake City businesses should help the city's sales tax revenue.
