SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - U.S. Congressman Ron Paul will speak to the public on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Utah Valley University’s UCCU Center.

Paul (R-Texas), a candidate for the GOP nomination during the 2012 presidential election, has accepted an invitation as a guest of the Young Presidents Organization.

Paul’s last visit to Utah was in September 2007 as part of his candidacy for the 2008 presidential election.

A school spokesman said that Congressman Paul will not be granting any individual interviews to the media.

Paul has enjoyed a substantial following in Utah over the past 5 years, yet trails Republican nominee Mitt Romney by a large margin in most polls.

Despite a friendly relationship with Romney, Paul has refused to endorse any candidate.

Congressman Paul's son, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has endorsed Romney.
