PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say two men and three juveniles have been arrested under suspicion of burglarizing vehicles in the Provo area.

Accord to police, an alert citizen called officers on Sunday morning after noticing three suspicious males checking car door handles in the parking lot.

Poice say officers soon arrived and located the suspects in the area of 750 East 500 North and after conducting an investigation, arrested three juvenile males for vehicle burglary.

On Monday at 3:20 am, police say another Provo officer was on a foot patrol in the area of 500 North 500 East where he located two suspicious males in a parking lot. After conducting an investigation, police say 20-year-old Caz Thatcher and 24-year-old Miguel Angel Castillo were arrested for Vehicle Burglary, Theft, and Possession of Stolen Property.

In both of these cases police say officers located multiple items of alleged stolen property and returned those items to the rightful owners.

“The successful resolution of both of these cases can be attributed to the actions of not only Provo officers, but a citizen who was alert to suspicious activity," said Provo Polcie Chief Rick Gregory. "Citizens who take pride in their neighborhood permit a sense of community to thrive, and significantly reduce the likelihood that serious crimes will occur.”
