WEST WENDOVER, Nevada (ABC 4 News) - The Elko County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Micaela Costanzo's body was put in a shallow grave 5 miles outside of West Wendover.
"This is not over yet until the person or persons responsible are brought to justice, " said Micaela's mother Celia.
Washoe County Sheriff's forensic unit and the West Wendover Police Department processed the scene of the grave Sunday evening.
Police announced in a press conference Sunday that they are searching for Micaela's killer, but West Wendover Police Chief Ron Supp said on Sunday there are no concrete clues pointing to a suspect. "I am relatively confident in our department and the rest of the people that are involved here that we will solve this case."
Micaela "Mickey" Costanzo, 16, was last seen on video surveillance. She was leaving West Wendover High School on Thursday at approximately 5:15 p.m.
A volunteer searcher found the shallow grave around 10:30 a.m. Saturday in a remote area 5 miles west of West Wendover.
"Many of our staff has referred to it as divine intervention," said Supp.
The search for Micaela was suspended around noon Saturday. Police confirmed the body found in the grave was Micaela's around 6 p.m. Sunday.
The Washoe County Sheriff's forensic unit is transporting the body to Reno where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Results could become available in the nest two weeks.
"Anyone who has information or might have seen anything please do not hesitate to contact the West Wendover Police Department," said Ceila pleaded. She said she can't have closure until her daughters killer is caught.

A candlelight vigil will be held for Micaela on Monday, March 7th, at 6 p.m. at West Wendover High School.
