Police arrest wanted, armed man in Taylorsville area

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say an armed man was on the loose in the Taylorsville area on Thursday. He was arrested by mid-afternoon.
Salt Lake Unified Police say the man had been pulled over by a joint criminal apprehension team (JCAT) when he took off on foot near 1300 West Winchester Street (6680 South).
According to police, the man was considered armed and dangerous, so they set up a containment area from 7200 South to I-215 and between 1300 West and 1500 West.
No schools were placed on lock down status as a result of the search.
