Police: Drunk man shoots motel wall, hits neighbor

VERNAL, Utah (AP) - Police in Vernal have arrested a 26-year-old man they say shot a gun inside an Econo Lodge motel room and hit a man staying in the room next door.

A 25-year-old man was taken to the Ashley Regional Medical Center after the shooting early Saturday morning. The Deseret News reports he was treated for a superficial head wound and was released.

The man who shot through the wall was taken to the Uintah County Jail and booked on suspicion of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by an intoxicated person and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
