PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (AP) - Pleasant Grove residents are facing new watering restrictions in an effort to ensure enough water for lawns and gardens until Oct. 1.

The Provo Daily Herald reports residents have been asked to limit their watering to two days per week.

Residents of odd-numbered houses must water on Mondays and Fridays, while residents of even-numbered house must water on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Watering is not allowed on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Sundays.

Public Works Director Lynn Walker says the new restrictions are necessary because of a dry winter.

Residents who do not follow the restrictions will be given a warning.

Walker says their water will be shut off after the first warning, and a fee of $50 must be paid to get the water turned on again.
