ROY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Parents didn’t learn about the potential bomb threat at Roy High School until the day after Police did, but they say it’s okay. They believe the timing events and the way the school responding was correct.

A Roy parent told ABC4, “We got an email Thursday and we got a hard copy of that notice, I do feel informed.”

Roy parents say they feel okay because the main searched happened after school was out on Wednesday.

Another Roy parent said, “The school has it under control, they brought a letter home last night for all the parents to read about what was going on.”

Parents say it was “under control” because by the time their kids were back in class, police knew the school was clean.

Parents do credit the student who showed police the text message about the plot for helping to stop a problem.

Roy police say the success of taking down the alleged school bomb plot came from that tip, preparation and great timing.

Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham. said, “We had something that came to us mid-day on Wednesday; school gets out at 2:30 we had the two suspects in our custody very quickly.”

Police took Joshua Hoggan and Dallin Morgan into custody quietly before the end of the school day on Wednesday.

Now, the community is ready to move on. They are grateful they caught the situation in time but are ready to move on from something that ended up not being a big deal.
