SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Ogden has decided to rename its police headquarters the Francom Public Safety Building.

The designation is in honor of Officer Jared Francom, the Weber Morgan Strike Force agent who was gunned down during a drug raid Jan. 4.

The City Council took the action Tuesday.

Ogden Police Chief Mike Ashment says the building will be renamed at a Jan. 4 ceremony.

The Lincoln Avenue building houses police and fire administration.

Five other officers were wounded when they tried to serve a warrant at the home of Matthew David Stewart.

Stewart has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated murder and attempted murder.
