Occupy Salt Lake plans protest at Utah Legislature

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Occupy Salt Lake protesters are planning a theatrical critique of corporate influence at the Utah Legislature.

Organizer Justin Kramer says the group is using humor to mock lawmakers who they say are beholden to special interests and corporations.

The protest is planned for Wednesday afternoon in the rotunda of the state Capitol.

Organizers say the protest will include cross-dressing performers wearing garish costumes. Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers will be pilloried by the activists.

About 75 people protesting what they call corporate greed were removed from a downtown Salt Lake City park in November. Nineteen people were also arrested at the time for refusing to leave the park.

A small group of protesters has continued camping without incident on a plaza along the city's Main Street.
