PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Two people were fatally injured in a motorcycle crash on SR-189 early Sunday morning.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the motorcycle's two riders, one male and one female, were traveling southbound on SR-189 through an area that is under construction.
For an unknown reason, the motorcycle left the roadway on the right side and impacted the cable barrier and posts dividing the two lanes, ejecting both riders, officials say.
Authorities are speculating that wind gusts reported in the area at the time of the crash may also have been a factor.
The male victim has been identified as David C. Cancilla, 23-years-old. The female victim was identified as Janet Velasco, 18-years-old. Both victims were from Orem.
