PROVO, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Plans are moving forward on the new Provo Temple as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints continues to purchase nearby land.
"The Church has proposed purchasing the adjacent parking structure located west of the temple site, as well as an adjacent portion of 100 South," said LDS spokesman Scott Trotter.
Nu Skin is in the process of selling a 304 space garage because it has outgrown the structure.
It earned 1.7 billion dollars last year and is expanding its campus. The plan includes construction of a larger garage for its growing workforce.
Latter-day Saints say they're pleased with the progress. It means they're closer to temple worship closer to home.
"We live in the world, but as you go in the temple you're not living in that world anymore. You're kind of in this very peaceful atmosphere. It's nice to get away from that busy life," said Caitlin Graves.
The LDS Church bought the Travelodge Motel and Los 3 Amigos between 100 and 200 South on University Avenue.
The buildings are demolished.
The Church continues to look for more land outside the temple here to buy.
