SANDY, Utah (ABC4 News) - A six hour standoff between Sandy police and a Sandy man ended peacefully Tuesday morning.

Monday night around 10:30, the
man living at 960 East 9400 South woke up a co-worker sleeping at his house. He started attacking her and then pointed a gun at her. He then shot a round into the ceiling and the woman was able to get out and call police.

The woman was taken to the hospital and the man locked himself inside his home. Sandy SWAT arrived and tried to talk to the man, but all they heard from him was a text message saying he was not coming out.

Just before 5AM Tuesday, the man came out of the house after SWAT set off a small explosion near the man's door.
