Man peacefully taken into custody after standoff

MAGNA, Utah (ABC 4 News) --A standoff in Magna has ended peacefully with a man in custody.
Police were called to a home near 3200 South 7730 West in Magna, around 7:30pm Tuesday.
A man had locked himself and his girlfriend in a bedroom. He then moved a dresser in front of the door.
He would not let the girlfriend leave. She called his Mother to come over and talk to him.
His mom called police because she was worried about their well being.
Police called SWAT for back up. According to Lt. Justin Hoyal with Unified Police, it was believed that there were weapons in the room. Hoyal also said they have a history with the man.
Around 10pm, the SWAT team made entry into the house and took the man into custody. The woman was unharmed.
