SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC 4 News) – A 30-year-old man is dead after he was ran over by his truck while off roading near Utah Lake Saturday morning.

Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office tells ABC 4 News that the incident occurred around 10:15 AM Saturday morning, just west of Utah Lake.

According to Cannon, officers were dispatched to a report of an off road accident in the area of Lake Mountain, west of SR-68 near mile marker 20. AirMed was also dispatched.

Cannon says that 30-year-old Joel Byron Larson from American Fork was killed after witnesses reported that his Silverado pickup truck experienced mechanical problems.

As the victim and his wife attempted to push the truck up hill it began to roll. Larson who was in front of the vehicle was unable to get away from the moving truck and was drug several feet and then ran over.

Larson’s wife was also injured in the accident, sustaining scrapes and bruises.
