ROY, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police are dubbing a bank robber the "Bucket List Bandit" because of his most recent written demand for money. He wrote he only has four months left to live.
Roy Police Chief Greg Whinham says this indicates the suspect may not care about consequences for himself or others. The "Bucket List Bandit" is considered dangerous and possibly erratic.
Whinham fully expects him to strike again despite his long sloppy trail of clues and evidence. He robbed banks in Flagstaff, Arizona June 21; Arvada, Colorado June 26; and banks in Pocatello, Idaho and Roy, Utah July 6.
Each time he left a note with a demand for money with phrases like "Don't mess with me and I won't mess with you."
The "Bucket List Bandit" is at least 60 years old, wears glasses, unshaven and stands about 5'8".
Police from four states are working together to stop this man before he steps back into another bank to demand money.
Whinham expects to release new information about this suspect Monday morning.
