MIDVALE Utah (ABC 4 News) - A 22-year old is jailed accused of sexually molesting several young boys in the apartment complex he was living in.
Parents of the victims say Keegan Nydegger developed friendships with both adults and young boys.
"He would hang out with them (my sons) and be friendly with them like take them places," says Maria who didn't want her last name revealed.
Nydegger even rented a room from one of the tenants whose relative is mentally challenged.
"I trusted him," says Donna who didn't want her last name used. "I thought he was an outstanding person."
Instead Nydegger broke that trust when he allegedly raped the disabled boy.
"He's having a hard time," says the boy's aunt. "He's surviving and he's scared all the time."
Nydegger allegedly groped the woman's two boys before they got away.
"He started to touch his body and they ran away from him," says Maria. "They come and told me."
The families say a nearby skate Nydegger's hangout. Maria says Nydegger would take pictures of boys.
"My son told me that this man was always taking pictures of boys and even took pictures of my son," she says. "When we saw him in the apartment complex my husband confronted him and he (Nydegger) says he is a professional photographer taking pictures of skaters for a magazine."
But she believed that to be false. And after her boys complained that Nydegger touched her son's her husband confronted him again.
"We didn't report anything to police because he said he was going to call immigraiton on us," Maria says. "So we didn't. But when our neighbors told us that he had hurt her nephew we went to police and reported him."
