LOGAN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Police say a man who had been arrested for suspicion of drug-related charges escaped from a patrol car on the way to jail Wednesday.

Police say 23-year-old Osvaldo Miranda (also known as Ozzie), was arrested during an investigation for felony drug related crimes by the Cache-Rich Drug Task Force.

During transport to the Cache County jail, police say Miranda was able to open the door of the transport vehicle and flee on foot.

After an exhaustive three-hour search involving officers with North Park, Cache County Sherriff, Utah Highway patrol and Logan City Police, police say Miranda was not located.

Police say Miranda was last seen in the area of 200 North 1000 West in Logan just after 10 p.m.

Police say Osvaldo has known gang affiliation and frequently travels to the Wasatch Front area.

Anyone with information on the location of Miranda was asked to contact the Logan City Police at 435-753-7555.
